故事的开头是一个女人斥责其他人真是愚蠢。

「这个世界上没有聪明和愚蠢的人，只是都会有聪明和愚蠢的时候。」

许多事情往往不是我们看到的表象，因此人们作出的决定也许是聪明的，也许是愚蠢的。就像「塞翁失马，焉知非福」的故事里讲的那样。

Being smart means thinking things through. – try to finde the real answer, not the first answer.

聪明是全面彻底的去思考事情。– 尝试找到真正的答案，而不是急着给出答案。

Being Stupid means avoiding thinking by jumping to conclusions. Jumping to a conclusion is like quitting a game: you lose by default.

愚蠢的人不去思考就直接得出结论。这样盲目下结论就意味着放弃了比赛，你已经输了。

这也是为什么，我认为「我不知道」事实上是很聪明的表现，因为它避免了你选择直接去盲目得出结论。

So When someone says “They are so stupid!” — it means they’ve stopped thinking. They say it to feel finished that subject, because there’s nothing they can do about that. It’s appealing and satisfying to jump to that conclusion.

因此，当某些人说「他们真的是太愚蠢了！」 — 这意味着他们已经不在继续思考了。他们这样说可以让自己觉得可以不必再继续下去，因为对现状他们也无能为力。直接这样下结论就显得更加有吸引力，也最可以让自己有满足感。

So if you decide someone is stupid, it means you’re not thinking, which is not being smart.

所以如果你认为某些人愚蠢，这也说明你不再思考了。这样其实并不是聪明的表现。
